Dr. Jithesh T. K.

Dr. Jithesh T. K., MSc, PhD, is Professor of Biochemistry and a Research Core Committee Member at MES Medical College, Kerala. He leads teaching and assessment in medical biochemistry and collaborates with clinicians to align laboratory science with patient care. His scholarship centres on lifestyle diseases, with particular focus on metabolic syndrome, diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidaemia, and cardiometabolic risk markers. He has guided more than ten PhD scholars and mentored undergraduate and postgraduate learners in research design, data interpretation, and scientific writing. His publications span gestational diabetes, micronutrient status, oxidative stress, and renal involvement in hypertension, with articles in national and international journals. He contributes to curriculum development, examination boards, ethics submissions, and faculty development, and supports institutional research governance through the core committee. His qualifications include a BSc and an MSc in Medical Biochemistry and a PhD in Medical Biochemistry; his doctoral work evaluated predictive markers for renal involvement in hypertension.
